Toronto police have identified a 72yearold woman killed in a shooting at a Scarborough hospital parking lot earlier this week as Karen Swatogor.
Police said Swatogor and an unidentified man were found with gunshot wounds at Providence Healthcare near Warden Avenue and St. Clair Avenue East on Monday shortly after 12:30 p.m. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said there is no outstanding suspect and no risk to public safety. Police have not said whether the shooting was a murdersuicide. Swatogor’s death is Toronto’s 26th homicide of the year.
