Steve's Music Store closes its last Montreal location after 60 years Get updates on final sales, repairs, rentals and special orders soon

Steve's Music Store will close its final Montreal location on SainteCatherine Street after more than six decades in business. The company said the decision follows earlier closures in Ontario and Quebec and reflects changes in the postCOVID economy. Founded by Steve Kirman in Old Montreal in 1965, the retailer grew into a familiar name for musicians in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa. After Kirman's death in 2012, his son Michael Kirman continued to run the business. The company has not yet announced a closing date. It said more information about final sales, repairs, rentals and outstanding special orders will be shared in the coming days.
