Several largecap U.S. stocks moved sharply before the opening bell on Wednesday after companies reported quarterly results, updated forecasts, or announced new business deals.
Advanced Micro Devices rose after issuing strongerthanexpected guidance for the second quarter, while Super Micro Computer climbed on expectations for quarterly profit that topped Wall Street estimates. Disney also advanced after revenue came in above forecasts, supported by streaming and theme park performance.
Other notable movers included Corning, which gained after announcing a manufacturing partnership with Nvidia, and Uber, which rose on betterthanexpected guidance despite a revenue miss. Shares of several energy companies fell after reports that the U.S. and Iran may be nearing a deal that could ease tensions in the Middle East.
