Alto restores comments on high-speed rail consultation map after deletions See how the federal rail project is handling public feedback before June

Alto, the federal Crown corporation planning a highspeed rail line between Toronto and Quebec City, says it restored comments that had been removed from its public consultation map after CBC raised questions about the deletions. The comments came from people affected by the proposed route, including an 18yearold in eastern Ontario who worried about his family home and an 84yearold Toronto woman concerned about agricultural land and food security. Both said their posts were taken down with automated messages that cited inappropriate personal information or possible harassment. Alto says the removals were caused by human error and that a thirdparty moderator is now reviewing the decisions. The corporation said about 18,000 comments were submitted during its consultation process, and 118 were removed. It plans to publish a report on what it learned in June.
