Toronto Transit Commission subway service on Line 2 was briefly suspended Friday morning during the rush hour commute after a mechanical problem affected trains between Broadview and Woodbine stations. The disruption began around 7:10 a.m. and service resumed just before 8 a.m., according to the TTC. The interruption came one day after Line 2 and Line 4 were both shut down for about 30 minutes because of a software issue in a train supervision system. The TTC said the automatic train control system on Line 1 was not affected and that safety safeguards stayed in place while the investigation continued. The latest incident adds to a run of recent transit problems on Toronto’s subway network.
