Toronto orders Live Nation to repair Rogers Stadium before AC/DC show
Toronto Rogers Stadium repairs after storm damage at Downsview Park Live Nation must secure the site fast as AC/DC's show nears
The City of Toronto has ordered Live Nation to repair damage at Rogers Stadium after Wednesday’s storm left parts of the outdoor venue in unsafe condition.
City inspectors said sections of the north side structure collapsed and seating was displaced at the site near Downsview Park. Live Nation has also been told to retain an engineer, secure the damaged area, and submit its findings and repair plan to the city by Sept. 8.
The city said any reconstruction will require a building permit, and Live Nation must update officials by Sept. 11 on the steps it has taken. The timeline leaves less than two weeks before AC/DC is scheduled to perform at the venue in midSeptember.
Live Nation said it has been working with Toronto’s technical teams since the stadium was installed and described the storm as a severe weather event. The company said it remains engaged with the city as inspection and remediation continue.
