Environment Canada has issued a tornado watch for the Prince George area in British Columbia as conditions become favorable for severe thunderstorms. The agency said the storms could produce tornadoes, along with strong winds, large hail, and heavy rain. A severe thunderstorm watch was also issued for areas including the Shuswap, Burns Lake, and Dawson Creek. Environment Canada warned that the weather could cause significant damage to homes, infrastructure, and the natural environment. It advised people to go indoors, stay away from windows and outside walls, and take shelter in a strong building if a tornado warning is issued or if tornadolike signs appear.
