Stocks move premarket after earnings from McDonald's, Caterpillar, Palantir and others
Large-cap stocks rose on earnings beats from McDonald's, Merck and Palantir See which winners topped estimates and which laggards sank before the open
Several largecap stocks traded higher before the market open on Tuesday after companies reported quarterly earnings results that beat or missed Wall Street expectations.
McDonald's rose after adjusted profit came in above estimates even though revenue slightly missed forecasts. Merck also gained after reporting a smallerthanexpected loss and raising its fullyear revenue outlook. Palantir jumped sharply on strong secondquarter results, helped by rapid growth in U.S. commercial revenue.
Caterpillar advanced after secondquarter earnings and revenue topped analyst estimates. Pfizer, On Semiconductor and Snap also moved higher after posting results that exceeded expectations on key measures. By contrast, Whirlpool, Wayfair and DigitalOcean fell after results or guidance disappointed investors.
