Midday stock movers: Meta, SK Hynix, WD-40 and Vodafone rally on catalysts See why these shares jumped, and what’s driving the biggest declines today
Several major stocks moved sharply in midday trading on Friday, with gains in Meta Platforms, SK Hynix, WD40, Circle Internet Group and Vodafone, while shares of Delta Air Lines, Netflix, Marvell Technology and Intel declined.
Meta rose nearly 6% after a Reuters report said the company is preparing an AI chip for production in September and could face lower computing costs than Wall Street had expected. SK Hynix jumped in its Nasdaq debut after the South Korean chipmaker priced its American depositary receipts at $149 and raised $26.5 billion to fund expansion.
Among other movers, WD40 advanced after strongerthanexpected quarterly results and higher guidance, while Delta slipped despite beating earnings estimates. Vodafone gained after Reuters reported that French billionaire Xavier Niel took a large stake in the company. Some analysts also moved stocks such as Seagate, Shopify and Lamar Advertising Company on updated ratings and price targets.
