Cerebras shares rise after AMD partnership
Cerebras shares rise on AMD AI systems deal for faster, low-latency workloads See how the partnership could boost AI performance and future chip demand
Cerebras shares climbed on Thursday after the AI chipmaker announced a partnership with Advanced Micro Devices focused on AI systems.
Cerebras CEO Andrew Feldman said the company’s chips will be used in AMD’s Helios AI systems in Cerebras data centers beginning later this year. AMD system customers will also be able to configure the hardware with Cerebras’ waferscale chips.
The deal comes as AI companies continue to compete on lowlatency performance. Cerebras said the arrangement is designed to improve response speed in AI workloads, while AMD is also presenting new chips and its Helios system at its San Francisco conference. Cerebras went public in May and has seen sharp price swings since its IPO.
