Stocks Move in Premarket Trading as Delta, Circle and Intel React to News
Major stocks move on earnings, approvals and upgrades before the opening bell See which names are surging or sliding and why investors are paying attention
Several major stocks moved sharply before the opening bell on Friday, with gains and losses tied to earnings reports, regulatory approvals, stake purchases and analyst upgrades.
WD40 rose more than 15% after reporting quarterly earnings that beat analyst expectations and raising its fullyear outlook. Circle Internet Group gained more than 13% after receiving approval from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to launch a cryptofocused bank. Vodafone’s U.S.listed shares climbed 13% after reports that French billionaire Xavier Niel had taken a 16% stake in the company.
Other notable movers included Delta Air Lines, which fell more than 3% even after beating estimates, and chip stocks such as Intel, Marvell Technology and Sandisk, which declined ahead of the Nasdaq debut of SK Hynix. Twilio and Shopify rose after Stifel upgraded both stocks, while Strategy and Coinbase added about 5% as bitcoin traded above $64,000. Meta also extended a rally after reports that it is preparing an AI chip for production later this year.
