Patrick Brown has registered to run for a third term as mayor of Brampton in the municipal election on Oct. 26. Brown, who was first elected in 2018, filed his candidacy papers at Brampton City Hall on Tuesday.
Brown said his campaign will focus on public safety and continuing major city projects, including the planned second hospital and the Hazel McCallion lightrail transit extension into Brampton. He said he wants to help carry those projects forward while the city continues to grow.
Seven other candidates have also entered the mayoral race. The deadline to register is Aug. 21.
