Etobicoke crash: SIU probes police pursuit after Acura hit a Ford Escape Get key details on arrests, injuries and what investigators say happened
Ontario's police watchdog is investigating a twovehicle crash in Etobicoke that happened shortly after midnight on Saturday near Carlingview Drive and Disco Road.
Toronto police said three people in one of the vehicles were arrested after the collision. The SIU said officers had tried to stop an Acura before it fled and hit a Ford Escape. The three occupants of the Acura later ran from the scene but were arrested nearby.
Paramedics said five people were taken to hospital. Three were treated at a trauma centre for serious but nonlifethreatening injuries, while two others had minor injuries. The SIU said no police vehicles were involved and no officers were hurt.
