Anthropic has introduced Claude for Teachers, a free offering for verified K12 educators in the United States. The product gives teachers access to premium Claude features, teaching skills, and curriculum resources aligned with academic standards in all 50 states. The company says the tool is intended to help teachers save time on planning and better adapt instruction to different student needs. It connects with Learning Commons and other classroom tools so educators can draft lesson plans, create differentiated materials, and analyze class data using information they choose to share. Anthropic also says the service is designed with K12 privacy protections, including terms written for educators and commitments that data will not be used for model training. The company is offering related AI fluency training for teachers and plans to pilot the product with Detroit Public Schools Community District.
