Peel Regional Police allege a former Air Canada captain flew hundreds of passenger flights over many years using fraudulent licensing documents. Investigators say the case dates back to 2009 and that the pilot’s career at the airline spanned about 27 years before his retirement in 2025.
Police said the man, identified as Barrie resident Geoffrey Wall, was charged after Transport Canada raised concerns following an operational evaluation at Pearson International Airport in March 2025. The charges include fraud over $5,000, uttering forged documents, possession of counterfeit marks and public mischief.
Air Canada said it removed the pilot from active duty when it learned of the issue and reported the matter to Transport Canada. The airline said he had completed required recurrent training, but acknowledged that captains of large aircraft must hold an airline transport pilot licence. The case remains under investigation, and Wall is scheduled to appear in court on June 29.
