Environment Canada has lifted a tornado warning for the ChathamKent–Rondeau Park area after severe thunderstorms raised concern that a tornado could form.
The warning was issued Friday evening at 7:28 p.m., when meteorologists were monitoring storms that were possibly producing a tornado. Officials described the alert as high confidence and high impact.
The storm system was also expected to bring damaging winds, large hail, and heavy localized rain. Residents were urged to seek shelter in a basement, interior room, or sturdy building until the threat passed. The warning has since ended.
