An officer with the Kawartha Lakes Police Service in Ontario has been charged with assault and uttering a threat after an alleged offduty incident. According to a police news release, the Ontario Provincial Police investigated the matter after it happened on July 1. Charges were laid two days later. The officer was not named. Kawartha Lakes police said the officer’s employment status has been reviewed and that administrative action has already been taken. The case is scheduled to return to court in Lindsay on Aug. 13.
