Ford rejects Angus Reid poll showing lower approval
Doug Ford poll dispute: Angus Reid shows his approval at 21% and falling See why the premier called it fake and what the numbers say now
Ontario Premier Doug Ford has dismissed a recent Angus Reid Institute poll that placed him at the bottom of Canada’s provincial premiers in approval, calling the survey “fake.”
The poll said Ford’s approval fell to 21 per cent, down 10 points since March, marking his weakest level since taking office in 2018. Angus Reid said the drop reflected economic pressure and policy controversies, and the group defended its methodology after Ford criticized it.
Ford said his own polling suggests the Progressive Conservatives would win a large majority if an election were held today. He also argued the survey relied on biased responses, while Angus Reid said it has tracked premier performance for years without political influence.
