Police investigate weekend shootings in three Lower Mainland cities

Vancouver shootings leave two hurt as police probe weekend gunfire Witnesses and video could help investigators link cases across the Lower Mainland

Police are investigating three shootings over the long weekend in Vancouver, Abbotsford, and Delta that left two people in hospital. In Vancouver, officers responded early Sunday morning to a weapons call at a convenience store near Main Street and East 16th Avenue. Emergency crews took one person to hospital in serious condition, and police said they have not identified a motive or made any arrests. In Abbotsford late Saturday, police say shots were fired from a darkcoloured SUV at another vehicle near McCallum Road and South Fraser Way, but no one was injured. A nearby SUV was later set on fire, and investigators believe that incident was targeted. In Delta, another shooting early Sunday near 64th Avenue and the Highway 91 onramp sent one person to hospital with serious injuries. Police are asking witnesses or anyone with video from the areas to come forward.
