Larry Ellison cancels plan to sell up to $7.5 billion of Oracle stock
Oracle shares: Larry Ellison cancels $7.5B sale plan amid AI boom and debt See what the reversal means for Oracle stock, Ellison's stake, and investors
Larry Ellison has canceled a plan to sell as many as 50 million Oracle shares, a move that would have been worth about $7.5 billion at current prices.
The reversal came one day after Oracle disclosed the trading plan in a regulatory filing. According to Oracle, no shares had been sold under the 10b51 arrangement, and Ellison does not currently plan to sell any of his holdings.
Ellison, 82, founded Oracle in 1977 and still controls more than 40% of the company. Oracle has become a major player in AI infrastructure, but the company has also taken on significant debt and its stock is down roughly 23% this year.
