Ontario government awards $198 million contract for Ontario Place parking garage
Ontario Place garage contract brings a $198M Ford government plan to Toronto. See how 3,500 spaces and 680 EV chargers fit the waterfront redevelopment.
The Ford government has awarded a $198 million contract to Pomerleau Inc. to design and build a fivestorey parking garage at Ontario Place in Toronto.
The project will include 3,500 parking spaces and 680 electric vehicle charging stations. Provincial officials say the garage is expected to help generate revenue from visitors once the waterfront redevelopment reaches full operation, with the government estimating about $60 million in annual gross revenue.
The garage was originally discussed as a possible underground structure, but the province later settled on an aboveground design. The Ontario Place redevelopment also includes a concert venue, parkland, a new science centre, and a private spa and waterpark operated by Therme.
