B.C. roadside attractions compete in summer bracket

CBC News is running a monthlong contest to find British Columbia’s best roadside attraction, with voting open from Aug. 3 to Aug. 31. The bracket includes 32 landmarks and tourist stops across the province, ranging from wellknown destinations to local favourites. Among the featured entrants are a wooden Rambo statue in Hope, the B.C. Forest Discovery Centre in Duncan, fruit stands in Keremeos and the Tumbler Ridge Global Geopark. CBC says the contest is meant to highlight places that attract tourists, drivers and residents travelling through the province. The attractions reflect different parts of B.C.’s identity, including film history, forestry, agriculture and geology. CBC readers can vote for their favourite as the competition unfolds through the summer.
