The Montreal player was pushed in the opening set before taking control in the tiebreak and carrying that momentum through the next two sets. He finished the match in 1 hour 56 minutes, served 10 aces, won 91% of his firstserve points and faced only two break points.
AugerAliassime has now matched his best result at the All England Club from 2021, when he reached the quarterfinals. He will next play Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, with a possible quarterfinal meeting against Novak Djokovic looming if both advance.
