Toronto Tempo sign Kayla Alexander to a second 7-day deal
Kayla Alexander extends with Toronto Tempo amid injury woes See how the veteran center helps fill the roster gaps now
Kayla Alexander has agreed to a second sevenday hardship contract with the Toronto Tempo as the team continues to deal with injuries.
The 35yearold centre from Milton, Ontario, returned to the WNBA after six seasons away and joined Toronto last week. Her contract extension comes as the Tempo remain shorthanded, with Brittney Sykes sidelined by plantar fascia issues, Kiki Rice out with an ankle sprain, and Temi Fagbenle recovering from a concussion.
Alexander has averaged 1.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists in two games for Toronto this season. The team also said its July 30 game against the Minnesota Lynx at Scotiabank Arena will start at 8 p.m. ET and air on Prime Video.
