Mission Memorial Hospital ER interruption due to staffing challenges in Mission, B.C. Nurses remain on site; call 911 for emergencies and seek urgent care if needed

Emergency department services at Mission Memorial Hospital in Mission, B.C., are being temporarily interrupted because of physician staffing challenges, Fraser Health said Sunday. The interruption is scheduled to run from 5 p.m. Sunday until 8 a.m. Monday. Fraser Health said patients already waiting to see a doctor at 5 p.m. would be assessed before staff end their shifts at 11 p.m. During the interruption, nurses will remain on site to provide basic care and help arrange transfers for patients who need urgent treatment at another hospital. People with lifethreatening symptoms such as chest pain, breathing trouble or severe bleeding should call 911 and go to the nearest appropriate facility.
