Quebec election campaign enters final week as voters focus on key issues Health care, economy and language top concerns before Oct. 5—cast your ballot

The Quebec election campaign is in its final week, with leaders having one last stretch to make their case before voters head to the polls on Oct. 5. Advance voting is already underway, with the second and final day of early ballots taking place on Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. People who voted early said health care, the economy, language and the environment were among the main issues shaping their choices. The campaign trail was also dominated by questions over possible U.S. interference, after Coalition Avenir Québec Leader Christine Fréchette suggested American officials might back the sovereigntist Parti Québécois. Rivals rejected that claim as the race moved toward election day.
