Cognition says GPT6 Astra is improving how Devin, its autonomous software engineer, tests code and demonstrates that it works. The company says this can make review faster and reduce the amount of manual checking engineers need to do.
According to Cognition, Astra is being used across its products, including Devin’s cloud agent, CLI, and desktop tools. In one example, Devin tested an iPhone game in a simulator, then returned a recording of the run and a report showing which checks passed and which areas were not covered.
The company also says Astra helps it respond to customers faster. When a bug screenshot is sent in, Devin can use Astra to fix the issue and return a new screenshot showing the result. Cognition says stronger testing and clearer evidence from the agent could let engineers review less code over time and ship updates more efficiently.
