Major League Soccer beat Liga MX 43 in the 2026 AllStar Game on Wednesday in Charlotte, North Carolina, extending its recent success in the annual matchup between the two leagues.
MLS opened the scoring after Liga MX struck first early in the match. Son Heungmin equalized in the 20th minute and added another goal three minutes later, helping MLS build a 31 lead by halftime. Philip Zinckernagel added a third before the break, while Liga MX responded in the second half through Salomon Rondon.
Evander scored MLS's fourth goal, and Liga MX added one more in stoppage time through Jose Paradela, but could not force penalties. Son was named the game's MVP for his twogoal performance. Lionel Messi was not available for the match as he rested after Argentina's World Cup final loss.
