Provincial police are investigating the death of an inmate at Donnacona maximumsecurity federal prison near Quebec City after an altercation involving several people on Wednesday evening.
Police said a man in his 30s was pronounced dead after officers were called to the institution around 7:30 p.m. Investigators and forensic identification technicians later attended the scene.
The death is the fourth at the Donnacona Institution since July of last year. Two other inmates died in separate incidents in March 2026, only weeks apart. Police have not released additional details while the investigation continues.
