CLARITY Act may return in lame-duck Congress, advocate says
CLARITY Act crypto market structure bill may return after Senate setback See why a lame-duck push could revive the bill and shape crypto rules
The CLARITY Act, a crypto market structure bill, could get another chance in Congress during the postelection lameduck session after failing to advance in the Senate this week, according to Digital Sovereignty Alliance managing director Adrian Wall.
Wall said he has spoken with senators from both parties who are considering another effort before the current Congress ends. He described the idea as difficult and unlikely, but still possible.
The bill fell short in Tuesday’s Senate cloture vote, which needed 60 votes to move forward. Wall said the setback was significant, but not necessarily the end of the legislation, and added that the next Congress could take up the issue again if needed.
