Toronto police identify second victim found in burnt vehicle

Toronto homicide probe deepens after a second victim was found in a burnt car Police identified Mohamud Kheyre and are asking witnesses to help investigators

Toronto police have identified a second homicide victim found inside a burntout vehicle last week. Police said Mohamud Kheyre, 30, was discovered after crews responded to a car fire at James Garden Park in Etobicoke shortly after 12:55 a.m. on Sept. 22. Officers had already been called to a separate vehicle fire on Reesor Road in Scarborough the night before, where they found another body. That victim, 32yearold Marcus Charles, was identified on Friday. Investigators say the two deaths are part of Toronto’s 27th and 28th homicides of 2026. The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
