Tornado warning ends in southern Ontario after severe storm threat See what officials said and how the alert unfolded across Milton and beyond
A tornado warning that was issued Saturday for parts of southern Ontario has been lifted, according to Global News.
Environment Canada said around 12:20 p.m. that meteorologists were monitoring a severe thunderstorm that could have produced a tornado. At the time, the storm was east of Milton, Ontario, and moving southeast at 40 km/h, with Milton, Mississauga and Oakville in the possible path.
The warning urged people to take shelter immediately in a basement, interior room or sturdy shelter, and to move away from the tornado’s path if possible. Officials said the alert was brief and was later removed.
