Police are searching for suspects after an early Sunday home invasion in Brampton, Ontario, left two people with gunshot wounds.
Peel Regional Police said at least two people wearing dark clothing entered a home on Bent Tree Court near Highway 407 and McLaughlin Road at about 4:34 a.m. Officers found a man and a woman shortly after arriving. Both were taken to a trauma centre in serious but nonlifethreatening condition.
Investigators said the suspects entered through the rear of the home while the occupants were sleeping. A confrontation happened inside before shots were fired, and the suspects fled in an unknown direction. Police are asking nearby residents to check doorbell or other video footage and share any information with investigators.
