Bruce Peninsula National Park closes areas after increased bear activity
Bruce Peninsula National Park closures follow rising bear activity in Ontario See campground and Grotto reservation updates as Parks Canada monitors the area
Parks Canada has temporarily closed parts of Bruce Peninsula National Park in Ontario after a rise in bear activity.
The Cyprus Lake campground will remain closed through Sept. 7, and some evening parking reservations at the Grotto were cancelled for Thursday and Friday. The cancelled time slots were 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Parks Canada said reservations at other parking areas are unchanged for now. The agency did not share more details about the bear activity but said it will continue monitoring the situation and update the public if more closures are needed.
