Tracker moving production from Vancouver to Los Angeles
Tracker season 4 moves to Los Angeles after filming in Vancouver See why CBS shifted production and what it means for B.C.'s screen industry
The CBS drama Tracker will move production of its fourth season from Vancouver to Los Angeles after three seasons filmed in British Columbia. Disney Television Studios confirmed the move, which follows California’s approval of a $48 million US tax credit for the series.
Tracker, starring Justin Hartley, has been one of CBS’s toprated shows since its debut in 2024. Its production had employed hundreds of cast and crew members in Langley and across southern B.C., including Vancouver Island.
The relocation is a setback for Vancouver’s film and television sector, which has benefited from major productions in recent years. Even so, other film and TV projects remain in production in British Columbia, while California is trying to attract more shoots through its incentive program.
