Polymarket rolls out Protocol V2 in smart contract overhaul

Polymarket Protocol V2 simplifies prediction markets with pUSD and one exchange See how the upgrade boosts flexibility, security, and future cross-chain growth

Polymarket has started deploying Protocol V2, a new smart contract system for its prediction market platform, with a broader switch for new markets expected in early November. Existing positions will remain on the current system during the transition. The upgrade is designed to simplify how Polymarket runs different market types by using a single exchange and pUSD as the only collateral token. The company said the new setup should also make it easier to add future features and move positions, collateral, and market data across blockchains, though no launch date or network list has been announced for that expansion. Polymarket is currently testing the new protocol on a limited set of live markets through Oct. 30. The company said the system has been audited by several security firms and formally verified, and it is offering bug bounties for critical vulnerabilities. The rollout also introduces upgradeable contracts and a new oracle aggregation system to help determine market outcomes.
