Symbiosis says it recovered 15 BTC after bridge hack
Symbiosis bridge exploit recovers 15 bitcoin after attack hits native BTC bridge Paused bridge, bounty offer, and compensation plans may help protect users
Symbiosis, a crosschain liquidity protocol, said it recovered 15 bitcoin worth about $1.1 million after a Friday exploit targeting its native Bitcoin bridge. The protocol said the recovered funds were moved into a teamcontrolled multisig wallet, while the affected bridge remains paused.
According to blockchain security firm Blockaid, the attacker minted 46.1 billion unbacked tokens and netted about 4.3 wrapped bitcoin, or roughly $336,000. Symbiosis said its other routes are still operating, but it has not yet shared a full accounting of the losses.
The protocol is now offering a 20% bounty for information that leads to additional asset recovery. It also plans to outline compensation for affected liquidity providers, while broader bridge exploits continue to put pressure on DeFi security.
