Consumer Protection BC has opened an investigation after complaints from people who said they bought FIFA World Cup tickets through StubHub but never received them.
B.C. Attorney General Niki Sharma said the reports are concerning, noting that fans should not have to worry whether tickets they purchased will be honoured for a major event like the World Cup in Vancouver.
The province’s Ticket Sales Act sets rules for transparency, accountability and refunds in ticket sales. Sharma said the regulator has taken enforcement action before, including a previous agreement with StubHub related to ticket information for Taylor Swift concerts in Vancouver in December 2024. StubHub has said it will honour its refund guarantees, and Consumer Protection BC has posted guidance for affected fans.
