Sudbury, Ontario under boil water advisory after adverse samples
Sudbury boil water advisory issued after bad test results hit city residents Boil tap water before drinking or cooking and watch for updates from officials
Public health officials have placed the entire city of Sudbury, Ontario, under a boil water advisory after routine testing found adverse samples.
Public Health Sudbury and Districts said the advisory affects residents in Sudbury, New Sudbury and Falconbridge, while nearby areas including Copper Cliff, Coniston, Walden, Garson, Val Caron, Azilda, Chelmsford, Dowling, Skead and Onaping are not included.
Officials said the advisory is precautionary while the cause is investigated. Residents using municipal water were told to boil it for at least one minute before drinking or cooking, though it can still be used for laundry and bathing, with extra caution around small children. The city is collecting additional samples from the David Street and Falconbridge water treatment plants and will provide an update when more information is available.
