Former Montreal priest faces new child pornography charges

A former Montreal priest is facing new child pornographyrelated charges over alleged acts in April 2026, court documents show. Brian Boucher, 64, remains in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing on Sept. 8. Boucher was previously sentenced in 2019 to eight years in prison after being convicted in one sexual abuse case and pleading guilty in another involving two boys under his care. He was released on statutory release in July 2024 and later transferred to another facility in February 2025 after incidents with a coresident. The documents also say Boucher was acquitted last year of sexual assault, voyeurism and criminal harassment charges involving another inmate at the prison where he was serving his sentence.
