Ukrainian drones strike major oil refinery in western Siberia

Ukrainian drones hit a major oil refinery in Omsk, Russia, in one of Kyiv’s deepest reported strikes inside Russian territory since the fullscale war began. Ukrainian and local Russian officials said the attack caused a fire at the facility, and emergency crews responded at the site. The refinery is located about 2,500 kilometers from Ukraine and is the largest Russian gasoline producer targeted so far in the war, according to Ukraine’s military. The plant is also an important source of fuels, lubricants and petrochemical products. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the strike showed that upgraded longrange drones had brought Siberia within reach. The attack came as Russia continued its own air campaign, including missile and drone strikes on Kyiv, and just before a NATO summit in Turkey.
