RCMP sees no sign of disrupted investigations after FBI dispute

RCMP FBI cooperation remains strong after a reported 9/11 memo dispute No investigations were disrupted, and the agencies say sharing continues

The RCMP says it has found no evidence that investigations were disrupted after a report claimed FBI Director Kash Patel briefly paused cooperation with the Mounties over a CBC memo on 9/11 wording. RCMP Commissioner Mike Duheme said he was never formally told that FBI cooperation had stopped and that checks across the country found no reports of investigations being halted. He said the RCMP’s relationship with the FBI remains strong. The reported dispute follows a New York Times account that Patel reacted to an internal CBC editorial memo by warning Canadian agencies that did not publicly reject it could lose FBI support. CBC later clarified its guidance, and both the RCMP and CSIS said intelligencesharing with U.S. partners remains important.
