Quebec campaign enters final two-week stretch

Quebec election campaign updates on leaders, fracking and key voter issues See what Fréchette, Milliard and rivals are pushing as Oct. 5 approaches

Quebec political leaders are in the 26th day of the election campaign as the contest moves into its final two weeks. Coalition Avenir Québec Leader Christine Fréchette is scheduled to visit a cabinetry company in Coaticook, south of Sherbrooke, while Liberal Leader Charles Milliard is set to appear at a heavyduty truck assembly plant in SainteThérèse, outside Montreal. The campaign has recently focused on fracking, as well as accusations from opponents about ideological overlap between the Parti Québécois and the Conservatives. Other parties have also highlighted their own priorities, including support for shipping, forestry, the birthrate and changes to how homes are bought. Quebec voters are scheduled to cast ballots on Oct. 5.
