NTT DATA says Codex cuts incident analysis time to 30 minutes

NTT DATA expands OpenAI tools to 9,000 employees for faster AI workflows See how Codex cut incident analysis from days to minutes while boosting guardrails

NTT DATA Group, a Japanbased IT services company, says it is expanding the use of OpenAI tools across its workforce as part of a broader shift toward AIassisted operations. The company has deployed ChatGPT Enterprise companywide and now says Codex is being used by about 9,000 employees in technical and nontechnical roles. According to the company, one early internal use case showed a major reduction in incident analysis time for a critical system. A task that previously took five experienced engineers three days was completed in about 30 minutes with Codex, helping build interest in broader adoption. NTT DATA says employees are also using Codex for tasks such as organizing files, analyzing spreadsheets, summarizing documents, and automating repetitive workflows. To support wider rollout, the company has created security and governance guidelines through its internal OpenAI Center of Excellence, including rules for data use, system access, and human review. The company says its goal is to make AI part of everyday work while maintaining safeguards, and to turn successful internal use cases into reusable processes for future customer work.
