At Mrakovic Fine Foods in Etobicoke, brothers Adis and Amir Mrakovic plan to turn their parking lot into a watch party. The familyrun deli will bring together supporters to eat, socialize, and watch the game while celebrating both Bosnian and Canadian culture. Community leaders say interest has been building for months. The Bosnian Canadian Association is organizing events from June 11 to 13 and expects about 25,000 Bosnians and members of the diaspora in the Greater Toronto Area, including visitors from Bosnia, Europe, the United States, and Australia. Fans interviewed in Toronto said the team’s second World Cup appearance is significant for the community. Many are hoping for a draw, but say the bigger story is the chance to gather, support the team, and share Bosnian hospitality with the city.
