CrowdStrike says Chinabased groups are increasingly targeting U.S. technology companies in attacks aimed at stealing artificial intelligence capabilities and intellectual property.
In a report covering the 12 months through March 31, the cybersecurity firm said Chinese entities were behind more than 58% of statesponsored targeted attacks on tech companies, with AI assets a major focus. The company said the activity appears linked to Beijing’s effort to narrow the technology gap with the United States.
CrowdStrike also said Chineseaffiliated hackers have targeted government communications in Southeast Asia and kept access to North American tech organizations by exploiting security vulnerabilities. China’s cybersecurity regulator did not immediately comment.
