A Grondinesbrand cheese sold in the Outaouais region of Quebec is being recalled after provincial officials said it may contain Staphylococcus aureus, a bacteria that can cause food poisoning.
Quebec’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food said the product was sold between July 9 and 16 at two La trappe à fromage de l’Outaouais locations in Gatineau and Chelsea. Officials are advising people not to eat the cheese, even if it appears normal.
The ministry said no illnesses had been reported as of Aug. 3. It also noted that this is the latest in a series of recalls involving Grondinesbrand cheese sold at other locations in Quebec in recent weeks.
