Toronto bar loses liquor licence over stolen alcohol purchases

The ruling said investigators watched bottles taken from LCBO stores being carried directly to the bar's back door in Etobicoke during early 2025. The owner said he started paying for the alcohol after incidents of retaliation, including damage to his property, but the tribunal found that response did not justify buying stolen goods. The decision also said the bar broke liquor storage rules by using unmarked bottles for leftover alcohol. The owner had held liquor licences for about 40 years without a previous record, and the bar's social media page says it is temporarily closed for renovations.
