Former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent is again urging the United States to pull its forces out of the Middle East as the war with Iran continues.
In a post on X, Kent said the U.S. should withdraw quickly to avoid more casualties and to prevent what he described as an escalation trap. He argued that leaving the region would reduce Iranian targets and change the terms of the conflict.
His comments came after CENTCOM said two U.S. service members were killed or went missing in separate incidents linked to attacks and unexploded ordnance in Jordan and Iraq. Fox News said it contacted the White House for comment.
