Zellers Reopens in Toronto With Nostalgic Grand Opening
Zellers reopens in Toronto with nostalgia, snacks and Zeddy Bear's return See what's new at the revived brand and why shoppers are lining up again
Zellers has reopened in Toronto, drawing shoppers who came to see the revived brand and revisit memories from their childhood.
The new standalone store at 80 Orfus Road opened on Thursday as part of the retailer’s broader comeback in Canada after its shutdown in the mid2010s. The launch included nostalgic touches such as kiddie rides, dinerstyle food, free ice pops and water bottles, and the return of Zeddy Bear.
Company officials said the Toronto location is part of an expansion plan following Les Ailes de la Mode’s purchase of the Zellers trademarks from Hudson’s Bay in 2025. A second Ontario store is expected to open in Windsor later this summer.
